Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)

A great deal of my experience in handling legal disputes, both as an advocate and as a neutral, is in the field of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). I am a former Chair of the Mississippi Bar ADR Section and have helped develop numerous ADR systems and procedures in Mississippi and elsewhere.

My primary ADR practice, other than as counsel for parties involved in ADR, is as a Mediator and Arbitrator. In that context, I am also often retained to provide independent analyses and evaluations for attorneys and their clients, both in relation to and prior to their litigation of particular claims and disputed issues.

I am a respected and experienced Mediator in Mississippi. I bring not only a high level of collaborative communication and Mediation skills to the table but also the authoritative credibility of extensive litigation experience throughout the state.

I am known as a fair, patient, creative, and effective Mediator. I am able to promote reasonable discussions of the various strengths and weaknesses of cases with counsel and their clients and to do so in a way that brings agreeable resolution at a minimal cost.

An Even-Handed Arbitrator

I am also known as a smart and fair Arbitrator. I can adapt the process to serve the parties’ joint interests in an efficient and impartial Arbitration.

From small and simple cases to large and complex ones, whether the Arbitration involves personal injury, nursing home, construction, trucking, employment, contract, business, or insurance claim disputes, I am known for bringing efficiency, astute analysis, and fair judgment to Arbitration proceedings throughout Mississippi.

In this context, because of my experience and insight, I have also developed a practice of being retained by attorneys and their clients to provide independent analysis and evaluation of disputed claims and cases. Those matters vary from summary analyses to fuller and more complex mock presentation evaluations.
